About Frankton, IN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Frankton, Indiana was first settled by Jacob Sigler who arrived with his family from Virginia in 1829 and purchased 80 acres of land. The Sigler family was very prominent in the town's early days, and the name comes from that of Francis "Frank" Sigler, who helped design the town and served as its first postmaster. Today Frankton has a population of not quite 2,000 residents, and claims amenities including three ball fields, one park, a post office, a bank, a high school, a new elementary school, and a new public library with wi-fi and nine public computer stations.
Franklin has one major event each year, its annual Heritage Days festival which has been held every year since 1976. The festival, which takes place in late September, features a parade, an antique tractor show, a custom car show, a magic show, bingo games, a pet parade, pony rides, a petting zoo, a golf cart poker run, a living history encampment and hot air balloon rides as well as games, contests and live music. Late September temperatures average in the mid-70s, making it the perfect time of year for such a festival. Winter gets underway in late November and stretches through most of March, but spring, when it comes, is pleasant if somewhat rainy. Summers aren't extremely hot, but they can be quite humid.
